Banbridge ASC swimmer Julia Knox has given a verbal commitment to George Washington University to swim and study in Washington DC for four years starting in August 2021.  Julia has been a club member since 2009 and has represented Banbridge ASC, Ulster and Ireland.  Speaking about her move to Washington DC July said “ I am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at George Washington University.  I would like to thanks Banbridge ASC and Strength Farm for the ongoing support, I can’t wait to join the team.”

ABC Council have made the decision to close all facilities to the public. This means that all club activities are suspended until further notice. BASC wish everyone the best of health, stay safe and hope to see all soon.

McCullagh International Open Meet 2020

The Swim Ireland ‘2020 McCullagh International Gala’ took place in Bangor Aurora from Thursday 20th to Sunday 23rd February. This year’s competition was run in a similar timeline to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games with the heats taking place in the evening and the respective finals taking place the following morning. The competition this year promised to be thrilling with Team GB’s Adam Peaty, Ross Murdoch and Siobhan O’Connor competing alongside Irish Stars Mona McSharry, Shane Ryan, and Brendan Hyland, full report click here.


Aquasprint Verses Bangor ASC

Our First Aquasprint of the season will take place Saturday 11th January at Bangor Aurora Complex.

Bus will leave Banbridge Leisure Centre at 4.30pm for warm up in Bangor at 6pm. Leaving Bangor approximately 8pm.

Those making their own travel arrangements ensure they are at poolside by 5.45pm as warm up is scheduled for 6pm.

Please indicate on notice board in Leisure Centre if you intend to avail of the bus by Wednesday 8th January.


Irish SC Championships 2019

The 2019 Irish Short Course Championships, and Open competition, was moved to Dublin this year.

Held at the National Aquatic Centre from 12th to 15th December, swimmers on show included those aiming to make Irish Squad for 2020 Olympics, click here for report.
